Pituitary apoplexy, a rare clinical syndrome secondary to abrupt hemorrhage or infarction. Headache of sudden and severe onset is the main symptom, sometimes associated with visual disturbances or ocular palsy. This review aims to highlight the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in the management of pituitary apoplexy.

In an awake craniotomy, the patient is awake during surgery.This is a preferred technique for operations to remove tumours close to, or involving functionally important regions of the brain.
